* Introductions:
** Danny\- DataPortability Community Manager
** Daniela\- Co-founder and current chairperson of steering committee.
** Jay\- interested in E-Commerce (works at Best Buy); working on[Microformat hproduct|http://microformats.org/wiki/hproduct-proposal]draft proposal; using data to give people the right information based on what they are intterested in producs/suggestions etc. ; interested in working on the message to prove out to business folks that these technologies and standards are good to work towards since they hold the purse strings but we need to speak their language; brings with him a rich knowlege of the ecommerce/retail business and players in the that field
** Christopher Camp\- Law student at UCDAvid; found Dataportability project while working on a research project about reputation metrics. Interested in legal issues around data usage,ownership/privacy. interested in participating in the [EULA&Tos Taskforce |http://wiki.dataportability.org/x/mIRE]as well .
** Niv Singer. Interested in Metrics around data portability.Cofounder of Tracx which collects information for its users from their accounts in various Social Media sites and services. His focus is on Social Interactions and collecting and displaying; might be able to assist in also putting something together for DPP as well (to work with Danny and Chris Saad)
** Nick Givotovsky- Independent Interaction Media, Attention Economy, Behaviriol Targetting, Ownerships, copyrights; also involved in Indentity Commons, VRM groups would be interested in working towards making sure all groups are aware (we discussed how some DPP participants are also invovled in those communititie and vice versa), maybe interested in assisting with upcoming RSA preconference event that DPP is involved in;
* Daniela explained how the role was devised\- which was basically because so many people are participants who want to help but we decided to crate individual roles that will then lead to tasks, deliverables etc.
* We discussed the project structure and goverance model ([please see our Governance Model),|http://wiki.dataportability.org/display/dpmain/Governance+Model] including taskforces and how everyone can participate, and create taskforces (approved by steering)\- You can see [Existing Taskforces|http://wiki.dataportability.org/x/WIAt] here
* Various attendees brought up the need for creating 'layman' documentation, something we are working on and Danny discussed how he has started a 'Getting Started Guide' that is being developed for that purpose. {Nick Givotovsky volunteered to assist)
* We also discussed looking towards creating a Depository of Words\- unified across various groups that are working on data portability issues
