C Open issues

D New business

Twitter account
  • Jay Myers on the mailing list had proposed that a service called "ConnectTweet" be used (http://www.connecttweet.com/). Selected Twitter accounts with a nominated hashtag would then be able to have Tweets automatically posted to the @dataportability account
  • The members present approved of this implementation. They discussed details, and recommended CAG members be given access only as determined by the chair on an ongoing basis. The proposed hastag was #dataportability, although this was subject to change.
  • Motion: "That the DataPortability Project uses ConnectTweet, with members of the Communication Action Group as tweeters, at the discretion of the chair". Passed with no dissent.
Podcast and video efforts
  • The chair asked what was the status of podcasts with the DataPortability Projects
  • Communications have been held with the hosts of the "Data without Borders" show, to become an official activity of the CAG
  • Discussion was held on the purpose of a news show. It was raised that a weekly videocast would potentially be more effective.
  • It was agreed that a news show would be a good way to employ the DataPortability analysts, giving insight into issues periodically based on their speciality
  • Motion: "That the DataPortability Project under the direction of the CAG, starts a weekly video podcast with Alisa Leonard-Hansen leading the pilot". Motion passed with no dissent.
